Caesars Injury Protection
Nothing wrecks a player-prop ticket faster than an injury before the wager gets a fair chance to cash. Caesars Sportsbook Injury Protection can soften that blow. If a covered player leaves during the sport’s qualifying injury window, is officially ruled out, and never returns, Caesars refunds an eligible straight wager or removes the affected leg and recalculates a parlay.
There is no promo code or opt-in. Protection is automatically attached to qualifying pregame and live bets across pro football, basketball, baseball, hockey, tennis, and golf. Just look for the Injury Protection shield and know the rules before placing your bet.

How Caesars Injury Protection Works
- Find an Eligible Player Prop
Open Caesars Sportsbook and look for a player-prop market carrying Injury Protection.
- Place the Bet—No Opt-In Needed
Submit the eligible straight wager or parlay as normal. Caesars applies the protection automatically.
- The Player Must Leave During the Covered Window
Every sport has its own qualifying timeframe. For example, a pro football or NBA player must be injured during the first half.
- Caesars Adjusts the Affected Wager
If every requirement is satisfied: An eligible straight wager is refunded. An eligible parlay has the affected leg removed. The remaining parlay selections settle at recalculated odds
Which Sports Qualify for Caesars Injury Protection?
Coverage is not identical across every sport. The injury must occur within the applicable window below.
| Sport | Qualifying Injury Window |
|---|---|
| Pro Football | Player is injured during the first half and ruled out for the remainder of the game |
| NBA | Player is injured during the first half and ruled out for the remainder of the game |
| MLB Starting Pitcher | Pitcher throws at least one pitch but leaves injured before recording three outs and does not return |
| MLB Starting Batter | Batter completes at least one plate appearance but leaves injured before a second plate appearance and does not return |
| NHL | Player is injured during the first period and does not return |
| Pro Tennis | Player retires injured during a Grand Slam; Full Match Match Betting markets only |
| Pro Golf | Player withdraws injured before beginning Round 2 of a major championship |
| Pro Women’s Basketball | Player is injured during the first quarter and ruled out for the remainder of the game |
What Caesars Injury Protection Does Not Cover
This feature covers qualifying injuries—not every reason a player might leave or miss time.
The following situations are excluded:
- Players scratched or ruled inactive before the event
- Players already listed as out
- Suspensions or ejections
- Disciplinary removals
- Coaching decisions
- Benchings
- Scheduled rest or load management
- Other non-injury absences
- Injuries occurring outside the qualifying window
- Live bets placed after the injury occurred
- Bets cashed out before the player was ruled out
- Players who return at any point after leaving
- Selections already determined before the injury
Caesars Injury Protection: Terms That Matter
The shield matters. If Injury Protection does not appear on the wager, do not assume the bet is covered.
- Protection is automatically applied to eligible pregame and live player props. No opt-in is required.
- Eligible affected straight wagers are refunded.
- For parlays, the injured player’s leg is removed, and the remaining odds are recalculated.
- The injury must occur within the sport’s qualifying coverage window.
- The player must be officially ruled out and cannot return later.
- Live wagers must be accepted before the injury occurs.
- Props already graded as wins or losses settle normally.
- Cashed-out wagers are not protected.
Final Take: A Valuable Safety Net for Player-Prop Bettors
Caesars Injury Protection cannot rescue every prop that falls short. The injury must occur during the specified window, the player must be officially ruled out, and that player cannot return. Cashed-out wagers and non-injury removals remain excluded.
When those conditions are met, however, the feature offers meaningful protection. Eligible straight wagers are refunded, while parlays can continue without the affected player’s leg. The best move is to check for the shield before betting. If it is there, your player-prop ticket has a safety net against one of the toughest breaks in sports wagering.
